IN-CLUSIVE envisions a fully accessible and disability-inclusive transportation ecosystem in Greater Exeter. An environment that enables individuals of all abilities to navigate their community confidently and independently, including those who are unable to drive. We envision a city where walking, cycling, wheeling, and public transport are safe, efficient, and accessible for everyone, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging active lifestyles.
IN-CLUSIVE advocates for the rights and needs of people with disabilities in the realm of transportation. We deliver our purpose through:
- Advocacy: Championing policies that enhance the accessibility and usability of public transport, streets, paths and cycling infrastructure for individuals with disabilities.
- Awareness: Raising awareness with local people, councillors and public officials about the diverse mobility needs of people with disabilities, fostering understanding and encouraging inclusivity within the community.
- Collaboration: Partnering with local authorities, transportation providers, and community organisations to implement effective solutions that enable disabled people to be active travellers and have access to public transport options. By working together, we aim to create an environment where everyone can traverse Exeter freely and with dignity, including those for whom a car is not their primary means of transport, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
- Empowerment: Amplifying the voices of individuals with disabilities by involving them in decision-making processes regarding transportation policies and infrastructure changes.
